We look for candidates with undergraduate and law school grade point averages of 3.0 and higher, as well as superior writing and communication skills. In addition, we seek law school candidates with a technical background sufficient to sit for the Patent and Trademark Office Bar Exam. Beyond these essentials, we prefer candidates whose record demonstrates leadership ability and the capacity to interact well with our lawyers, scientists, staff, and, most importantly, our clients. We typically interface with entrepreneurs, high-level managers, in-house counsel and engineers. Students with advanced degrees and technical work experience are also encouraged to apply. In addition, the firm actively recruits judicial law clerks. Many of the firm’s lawyers are former law clerks for several courts, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
