At Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, LLP the health and well-being of our associates is of utmost importance. The Firm provides a generous benefits package to all full-time associates. Below is a brief synopsis of the benefits currently provided to our associates.
PAID TIME OFF
PTO time is to be used for sick, personal, or vacation days. Time is accrued according to the following schedule:
15 days per year for the associate's 1st through 5th years of employment.
20 days per year for the associate's 5th and all subsequent years of employment.
Accrued, unused credit will rollover to the next year. |
HOLIDAYS
Ten paid holidays per year.
MEDICAL INSURANCE COVERAGE
Comprehensive medical plans are offered to associates and their qualified dependents. The Firm pays a majority of the premium for both associates and their qualified dependents.
DENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE
Made available at a reduced premium for both associates and their qualified dependents.
VISION INSURANCE COVERAGE
Made available for both associates and their qualified dependents.
PRESCRIPTION DRUG CARD
Prescription drug coverage offers generic drugs for a $5 co-pay and brand name formulary drugs for a $10 co-pay.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA)
Associates may contribute up to $3,000 for Health Care and $5,000 for Dependant Care.
401(k) RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN
Associates are eligible to enroll at the first entry date following the completion of one full year of service. Entry dates are January 1 and July 1.
RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTION
A discretionary contribution up to 3% of associate's annual salary.
CALIFORNIA BAR EXAM AND BAR REVIEW COURSE REIMBURSEMENT
The Firm will reimburse usual costs associated with preparing for and taking the California Bar Examination, such as a review course (e.g. BarBri), exam registration fees, moral character fees, fingerprinting fees and MPRE fees. In addition, the Firm will reimburse hotel room and tax expenses for three nights while taking the California Bar Exam. PMBR expenses are excluded. All reimbursements apply only for those charges incurred after accepting an offer with the firm.
MATERNITY LEAVE
Women are eligible for up to 18 weeks off for maternity leave. Women returning to full-time positions after an approved leave may apply for authorization to work at 80% quota (at 80% salary) for up to three months following their return. Exempt women employed full-time are eligible to receive six weeks of pay if they return to work full-time immediately at the end of their approved maternity leave.
LIFE INSURANCE
$15,000 for each full-time employee. Employees are provided an opportunity to apply for and purchase additional life insurance coverage at their own expense with the Firm's reduced group rates.
AD&D INSURANCE
$15,000 for each full-time employee.
LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE
The Firm pays 85% of the premium.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Firm provides a free employee assistance program to offer support, guidance and resources to help employees and their families resolve personal issues.
CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION REIMBURSEMENT
The Firm encourages its associates to participate in continuing legal education by attending programs conducted outside of the Firm.
ON-SITE WORKOUT FACILITY
An on-site facility with LifeCycles, a weight machine, treadmill, lockers and showers is available in the Irvine and D.C. offices for employees only.
